Tina Fey has previously made her views about Upper West Siders known — namely that we’re not very attractive.
Well, the comedy star is now planning to turn her camera on the neighborhood where she lives for a new Netflix series that is set to be released in March. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt starring The Office’s Ellie Kemper, is about a former cult member who goes to work for a rich Upper West Side family as a nanny. Jane Krakowski will play the mother. Be kind to us, Tina!
(By the way, a friend recently lost sight of his kindergartner at a playground. He searched for her frantically, only to find her chatting casually with Tina Fey.)
Ms Fey lived at 740 WEA some time ago. I still live there and assume that Ms Fey will resist creating any untruths (for her art).
But, if she does, I’m ready for her.
She’s right. We are ugly and not cool, but we have the Park
she is pretty ugly herself, in my view, so she fits right in!
You are being ridiculous.
Ms Fey was absolutely correct! It’s a shame to see so men who actually leave their apartment with messy hair and in their pajamas or clothes that are so large 2 people could fit in them. Or women who think comfort rules over style (it doesn’t have to, ladies!).
I think she was also referring to the look of misery and disgust on too many UWSers faces, as if something smells bad. Is life really that bad?!? Can’t you be happy that you still live in Manhattan, and in a beautiful neighborhood to boot?
When you pay for the haircuts and product and wardrobe of people, you can criticize. Some people have physical ailments that necessitate that “comfort rules over style”.
I’m guessing you are one of those self-absorbed UWS parents who think your special snowflake deserves to shriek her/his desires and displeasures in public places and walk however, wherever s/he chooses on the sidewalk while wrinkling your and your kids’ noses at and denigrating polite members of society whose fashion sense offends you.
I guarantee that YOU are whom she was talking about, ugly on the inside, inadequately couched by designer clothes and too much makeup on the outside. Be sure to look for you on the show, snob.
The UWS does smell bad — it’s all the dog poop on the street. People, be a good neighbor and pick it up!
We love seeing Tina in Fairway. Perhaps she can bring attention to their rats.
Remind me again, who is she?
I am sure TF must have been referring to herself and Jerry Seinfeld when she made that comment. Those two only add to the unattractiveness of the UWS or wherever they go.
Well, Liz Lemon lived there, so I hope she’s not talking about herself. I love the UWS. Always stay there when I’m in NY. Someday I’ll try another ‘hood, but it just feels like home. Looking forward to this new show.
Tina Frey is all good. If she did say that I am sure it was in jest only.
She should take just a glance in a mirror before making these comments on the appearance of her neighbors.
She elaborated later and said she considers the UWS 70th Street and above.
Nora Ephron said the light is better on the East side but its not the West side.
