Months ago, we told you of a startling new development on the Upper West Side: a 24-hour cupcake ATM was on its way, with the first one expected to arrive this summer. Commenters found the idea either wonderful, or horrifying.
Alas, the summer is beginning to dwindle away, and no cupcake ATMs have arrived.
“What gives?” we asked the people from Sprinkles Cupcakes.
“At this time, we unfortunately do not have an exact date although we are working hard to launch this Fall,” replied spokeswoman Nicole Schwartz, confirming that an ATM is indeed expected to open on the Upper West Side. “We are launching our Cupcake ATM in Chicago this weekend! Feel free to check back in with me in the next few weeks!” She didn’t have an exact location yet.
To learn more about the ATM, see our previous post. And here’s a video so you can watch it in action.
Like this really – somehow – matters…
With cupcake stores on practically every corner, do we really need them in an “ATM”? Just wondering …
Shouldn’t it be “A*D*M”, anyway — for Advancing Diabetes Mechanically”??
is it me or is this one of the stupidest things ive ever heard of
