Photo of the Day: Stocking Up To Break the Fast

September 18, 2018 | 3:34 PM

Five minutes before Zabar’s opened on Tuesday morning, the line was already stretching down the block. Yom Kippur starts Tuesday evening, and the meal to break the fast is like the Super Bowl for the store.

To all who celebrate the holiday, have a meaningful fast, and a delicious break-the-fast!

I’ve found the bread and bagels at Orwashers to be so so. However, the customer service to be awful.

Mazel tov. Bon appetit, later; after Yom Kippur – to my Jews. Hope no more cuts to Food Stamps, for citizens. n.b., Noshing is Sacred, book. Have perused @ 5 books with Jewish cookery, 2017—….Save our family farms. Horrors, the animals in some factory farms drowned — in [both ?] of the Carolinas, recently. Oh, chocolate-covered matzah/matzohs. n.b. Danish smorgasbord.

Thankfully we also have Murray’s that little gem of an appetizer store slightly north. Ira and his team define grace under pressure.
