Mayor Bloomberg and other officials gathered at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument off Riverside Drive at 89th street Monday morning at 10:30 to commemorate Memorial Day.
“The New York Scottish Pipes and Drums, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Veteran Corps of Artillery in their historic uniforms lead U.S. Coast Guardsmen, Sailors, Marines, Naval Cadets, and Sailors of Allied Nations. Veteran, Civic, and Heritage Organizations will lay 17 Wreaths at the portal of the Monument.”
