A red-tailed hawk flew into the open window of an apartment on West 80th Street, and flew through the building’s halls, coming to rest in front of Joe Moderski’s doorway. Moderski was absent-mindedly checking his mail when he suddenly came upon it. “I thought I missed a pillow fight in the hallway or something,” he said. “There were feathers everywhere.” Police officers at first tried to lure the hawk with bread crumbs but that failed. Once they captured it, they took the injured hawk to Animal Care & Control. (NY Daily News)
