1/2/3 service will be severely disrupted in Manhattan at least through the morning rush hour. We’re working to clear water from and inspect tracks after a water main broke at Times Sq.

Avoid these trains if you can and take alternatives.

It is a good thing that there are parallel subway lines Most readers don’t know that the subway system was built mainly by private industry. If government had built the system there never would have been parallel lines The subway system has been declining while fares have skyrocketed since the government takeover in 1948.

Actually the government built the IND subway mainly to put private subway lines out of business. The IND 8th Avenue Line was meant to put the 9th Avenue El out of business. The IND 6th Avenue Line was meant to put the 6th Avenue El out of business. The IND Fulton Street Line in Brooklyn was meant to put the Fulton Street El out of business.
