The Upper West Side shows stable to lower COVID-19 positivity rates for zip codes 10023, 10024 & 10025, and slightly higher for 10069, according to the weekly data reported by the NYC Department of Health today. This does not take into account unreported self-tests.

For New York City, the daily average positivity rate for the seven days ending June 16th was 8.06%, compared to the 28-day daily average of 10.6%. Total average daily cases decreased to 2,856 for the seven-day period, down from the 28-day daily average of 3,523. Daily average hospitalizations decreased to 19 from 72, and 7-day daily average deaths remained constant at 7.
DOH current alert level has been lowered to Medium. The CDC alert level is Medium for NYC and Westchester County, and High for Nassau and Suffolk and counties.
If traveling in the US this summer, hospitalization in this country is on the increase from May to June.

Anecdotal evidence here, but two people I know have Covid right now and found out through home tests which are not included in these statistics. I think the Covid case numbers are far higher than this article reports.
Great point! Health officials acknowledged the cases are greatly underreported at the end of May. This further supports how vital it is to continue protecting ourselves and community.
