JOIN AN AFTER-SCHOOL BOOK DISCUSSION PROGRAM AT DOROT

Are you looking for an exciting and educational after-school program? Enrollment is now open for Intergenerational Book Buds.

Intergenerational Book Buds is a weekly after school program that encourages 3rd and 4th graders to read while exploring values of kindness and respect. The program nurtures a love of reading by pairing children with seniors to read books aloud and discuss their themes of friendship. Participants also engage in arts and crafts and group activities that relate to the books.

The program is hosted by DOROT, a local community organization that has been serving the Upper West Side for 40 years. Our mission is to bring the generations together, because we believe that the community is stronger when we support and learn from one another.

Intergenerational Book Buds is a great way to reinforce your child’s love of reading while teaching them to respect the elderly. All classes are led by expert facilitators, and our older adult volunteers are passionate about working with children.

Program details are below:

Dates and Time
September 13, 2017 – January 17, 2018
Wednesdays, 4:00-5:30pm

Registration-no cost to participate
