A fully-clothed 69-year-old man was found dead in Central Park near Columbus Circle Thursday afternoon, police said. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the police investigation is ongoing.

The Post reports that the man was homeless, according to a friend. “He had asthma,” his pal Juan Cabellero, 60, also homeless, told The Post. “I know what happened — either heart attack or stroke.”

Police are waiting to notify his family before identifying him.

Correction: This post initially said the man was in his 40’s, based on information provided by police.

Because this is New York, welcome living in the city. Hopefully you aren’t paying too much to do so.

Unfortunately, more and more homeless everywhere.
Get them the help they need and off the streets.

Did you receive information about a dead man found in the park on the west side near 106th street around May 20th? I was walking my dog when the body was found. The person did not appear to be homeless. I searched for news about it but was not able to find anything. Thank you.

We dont care about self-sufficient white people… they don’t “matter” to this administration.

George is that sarcasm? (George shared … “We dont care about self-sufficient white people… they don’t “matter” to this administration.”) Geez, how very “fancy” of you. I love the West Side Rag, but the comment section not so much. To much vitriol. Unfortunately this seems to be the case of comment sections on most publications on the world wide net these days, snark and assholism. Amazing we live in a time of great communication yet have such profound “stupidity”.

Patricia, I agree with you. The decline in productive dialogue is evident here.

Get used to hearing it like it is Patricia, the Trump administration is going to change a whole lot more than the liberalism that is rampant and ruining this great country of ours!

Well George, at least for what’s left of this administration, you are entitled to your wrong opinion.

“Police are waiting to notify his family before identifying him.” Logic suggests they should identify him first so they know who his family is. Perhaps you meant “before revealing his identity.”
