The Say Cheese restaurant at 142 West 83rd Street we wrote about a couple of weeks ago has opened, and it was giving away free sno-cones and s’mores on Sunday to celebrate its grand opening. Sno-cones can be a tough sell when the temperature is 20 degrees, but people tend to drop those scruples when the price is $0.
People were giving out coupons for the free desserts nearby, and they may continue to do so this week as the store introduces itself to the neighborhood, a manager there told me (the store is closed on Monday but reopens Tuesday).
Say Cheese, run by catering company Scoozi Events, offers take-out only. It specializes in grilled cheese sandwiches. Check out our full write-up here.
Thanks to Upper West Side comedian Dave Rubin for the tip and sno-cone photo.
But were the sno-cones any good? Would you be willing to pay for a sno-cone or the s’mores at this upper west side spot?
