This week, the 1, 2, and 3 will be shut down below 34th Street from Monday through Friday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to allow for work on the track.
The MTA is shutting the subways down entirely so it can get the work done faster and more safely, the agency says. As Gothamist advises, if you’re planning a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner in the West Village, prepare to take a bus or cab.
Be aware, the changes will also hit other lines that Upper West Siders use in the next few weeks: the B, D, F and M will get “FASTRACKed” from February 27 until March 2. For the A,C, and E, the work will happen from March 12 through March 16.
