Spring is back in Central Park! How do we know? Two key symbols of the season just reappeared.
Cherry blossoms! Photo by Jeff Segall.
Cherry blossoms are blooming in the park. The first blossoms to bloom are the Okame Cherry Blossoms, and these can be found on the west side of the Reservoir in the West 80s.
And rowboats are being rented and rowed again on The Lake next to the Central Park Boathouse in the West 70s. The Boathouse restaurant has reopened after being closed for months.
Here’s the Boathouse snack bar in action.
Can’t wait to enjoy the outside! Last year this time it was basically a ghost town.
Your first two entries are the most cheering things I’ve read all day.
How can I submit photos to you that might be appropriate to your stories? I live on the UWS and visit Riverside Park and Central Park frequently!
Hello Ben, This time last year, Central Park was teeming with people enjoying a most beautiful spring. Where were you?
What a welcone sight!!!
I think that’s a flowering plum tree. Cherries not quite ready.
Cherry blossoms! We are the Washington on the Hudson!
