State Senator Robert Jackson.

Local elected officials will be leading a march on Sunday calling attention to a state law that shields police disciplinary records, a key issue in the recent protests against police violence.

We wrote about the law, known as 50-a, here.

State Senator Robert Jackson, who represents parts of the Upper West Side, is the main organizer of the march.

Here’s a map and two details of our March to Repeal 50-a route today!

Please remember to:
– wear a mask & stay distanced as much as possible
– bring sunscreen, water, & a snack
– bring signs

We’ll update our progress here so you can join us if you don’t start in Marble Hill. pic.twitter.com/6mqsgAdoeG

More details are explained below. Be sure to wear a mask if you go.

Bravo. Transparency is the next step in healing the hostility and angst between citizens and police.
