This morning, New York Times reporter Katie Rosman saw a trash can in flames at 77th Street and Broadway. “I walked to the fire department down the street and a fireman walked back with me and took care of it,” she wrote on Twitter. We are lucky for our FDNY.”
As close to a literal dumpster fire as we get in uws, I would hope.
This story is riveting.
So riveting is this story, the Times reporter “walked,” not ran, to the fire department down the street.
Why are these comments so needlessly nasty? Any opportunity to praise the FDNY is welcome.
