It’s springtime and the birds are doing their thing. And increasingly, they’re doing their thing inside signs with the letter O on Broadway. The tight real estate market is clearly causing birds to shack up in the closest cozy spot available, and the letter O has historically been very cozy.
The family shown above is living in the O of Copy Express on Broadway and 90th Street. If you stop by, consider giving them a friendly whistle.
Thanks to Elizabeth Kandel for the photo.
What kind of bird?
Looks like a male House Sparrow. Invasive and aggressive species. Ubiquitous.
Thanks.
Check Rite Aid at 110 and Broadway. Same housing dynamic.
Good thing birds are renting space tenants aren’t.
The birds are not renting … they are squatting! 🙂
