It’s been awful cold in the past few days and it doesn’t figure to let up for at least a week.
Mildred Alpern took these photos of a water tower on 87th and Riverside that is completely encrusted in ice. Anyone want a cold bath? (The third picture in the series shows the tower on the right from farther away.
And Peggy Taylor took the shot below of a pack of dogs out for a walk on 73rd Street, all of them fully outfitted in the winter’s hottest outerwear. Woof!
Lent continues for some. Remember a series of B & W drawings of Water-towers in Manhattan, N.Y.C.. Glad that some of a.m. radio gave some guys chances to speak out re : difficulty of walkin w/a cane; difficulty re travel w/wheelchair; better method w/smaller snowplow [into drain] years ago : during SNOWED ! No Senior Centers, Community Centers open during Weekends; during SNOW ! ? Happy hot chocolate ! N.Y.C. doesn’t seem to be eating Dogs, yet. Save : Meals on Wheels; for citizens [NOT fer illegal aliens, ‘ere].
