PRESIDENTIAL VISIT TURNS UWS INTO BARRICADE-CITY; WORKERS FEVERISHLY FILL POTHOLES

We hear from some reliable sources (doormen, of course!) that President Obama is coming to the Upper West Side for a fundraiser today, and much of the neighborhood in the West 90’s has been filled with metal barricades in advance of the visit.

The president’s official public schedule was blank as of 8:50 a.m., but it’s been widely reported that he’s set to come to New York tonight.

So far, the White House says the president won’t be appearing with Hillary Clinton on his visit.

Twitter user @AdventureSarahB tells us they’re also filling potholes this morning in the area. Hmm, coincidence?

I also noticed the potholes being filled, and wondered why only on certain streets. Now we know.

Why were there a bunch of cops with machine guns outside the W. 72nd Street subway station yesterday (Tuesday) at around 4pm?
It was more than I’ve ever seen there before.

Today there are 3 Ford Cruisers at 96/Bwy unloading the NYPD Couterterrorism Teams with their machine guns.

I think last time it was at an apartment in the El Dorado or Ardsley…but not sure who was throwing the event. But if these are current photos…it suggests same locale as a couple of years ago.

Yep – mailboxes are locked down. A doorman likewise indicated to me it’s at the El Dorado. There were also vintage (late 60s) cars parked for a film shoot – I’m sure the filmmakers hadn’t anticipated all of the barricades along that block of CPW.

Pretty sure it’s at the El Dorado. Biden stopped by there last week as well.

Tell him to stay home, thank you. Although very nice that the potholes are being filled, however, nobody would have bothered to fill them for the actual residents who have to live and work daily on the UWS. So, another fundraiser? The limousine liberals are at it again. Down with the people? Yeah right.

Would you feel the same way if the bitterness were to be directed at a President Trump?

So De Blasio’s guys decide to fill the potholes ONLY when the President comes to town. VOTE DE BLASIO OUT !! He’s terribly ineffective and partisan. He only works for ‘his people’….New York & New Yorkers need better.

Presidents should be visiting NYC every few months and maybe a number of potholes will be filled and others things fixed. Seems like that’s the only way anything gets done! Pathetic!!!!!

Note all the pro-Trump posters.

Remember, it’s probably safe to assume that in these parts, most of those who support Trump keep a low profile, not wishing to become recipients of the special brand of “tolerance”, “respect” and “love” that the great champions of said values would no doubt bestow upon us if our views were to be know. (The much-celebrated value of “diversity” obviously not extending to those who defy the entrenched orthodoxy). So there’s probably more of us than many people realize, perhaps a lot more.

I should have said,
Don’t Dump on Our Trump!

Well, sure, why wouldn’t the President support something like that? Not like he’d have to pay for it himself or deal with any less-than-pleasant consequences that it might bring.

This article is another reason I love and support WSR! It tipped me off so I could leave for the airport before Car-maggedon. I type this from the airline lounge, stress-free, with time to spare before my flight. Thank you for helping us stay connected with our neighborhood.

“We’re slipping and sliding into ‘third-world-ism”

I wonder if anyone recognizes that line, one of many that a certain late, legendary commentator and master of radio artistry was known for. Oh, how I miss him.

Bob Grant was a nasty, ugly racist.. and he was pretty proud of it.

Not surprising that a Trump supported would also be a fan of Bob Grant.

Racism is such a blight. those of us who are white can ignore it if we wish. the 50% of our fellow New Yorkers who are Black and Hispanic cannot.

This, from someone who is just fine with our Mayor and President, both of whom have repeatedly shown only welcome and respect to an infamous riot- and arson-inciting[1], libel-perpetrating[2]; hate-mongering Black supremacist[3], tax-evading “fake, phony, fraud” by the name of Al Sharpton.

In the case of The Pres., this is a man who for years was an active member of a church led by a Black supremacist whose response to the Jihadist holocaust of 9/11, in which thousands of his fellow citizens were massacred, was to curse the United States of America (the very country that allowed him to thrive and prosper, living in opulence by exploiting his congregants.) That’s the man Pres. Obama chose to marry him and maintain a close relationship with for years, only ending it (so we are told) when the infamous video exposing the Reverend’s foaming hate-speech surfaced. Pres. Obama is also a man, let us not forget, who was endorsed by the virulently anti-White, anti-Jewish and anti-Catholic Black supremacist Louis Farrakahn. (When challenged with this fact, Obama responded by pointing-out that he has no control over who endorses him. Obama’s supporters seemed quite happy to accept that defense from him. Then, those very same people turned-around and tried to smear Trump with some of the people who had endorsed him!)

Though there are plenty more examples I could cite, the above is quite sufficient in showing how utterly sanctimonious your self-righteous, holier-than-thou, (and utterly trite and predictable) incessant virtue-signalling and scolding is. Spare us.

NOTES:

[1](“White interloper”: Freddy’s Fashion Mart in Harlem; Crown Heights pogrom: “If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house.”, etc., etc.)

Just one of the gems uttered by Sharpton in the recording at the above URL:
“We taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them [sic] Greek homos [sic] ever got around to it.”
I happened to have heard that one on a recording that was played on the radio not long after Sharpton had made the “sermon” in which he said it.

All of the sins and crimes of Sharpton that I have cited (as well as of those his enablers and promoters), plus many more that I have not, are amply and widely documented and reported (though considerably whitewashed and hidden by the mainstream media, the left and even, at least to an extent, the “Respectable Right”). Here is just one apropos piece by Walter Williams:

From the NYT obit: “Mr. Grant thrived on the radio despite being boycotted for racist remarks, and despite a trademark habit of hanging up on his own callers.”

How could you have known I was referring-to Bob Grant? Listened to him yourself, perhaps?

Vintage BG response to callers who would complain about and scold him:

Uh, tell me, tell me, why do you listen to the program? No, really, I mean if it bothers you that much; if you find me as repulsive as you say you do, then why even listen in the first place? Is someone forcing you to listen? Is there someone holding a gun to your head…”
