Spring is already shaping up to be strange on the Upper West Side. Or maybe people just like skinny-dipping. Check out the news we read in other publications this week.

A man was arrested on Saturday after skinny-dipping in Central Park’s Harlem Meer, where he stood on a small island sang and shouted at police officers.  “He went in with shorts,” said witness James Miller, “but he didn’t come out with shorts.” (NY Post)

Two people were stabbed during a fight that involved numerous people early Sunday on 110th street and Columbus Avenue, but there were few details about what happened. “The violence erupted at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, police said, and both a teenage boy and a 22-year-old woman were rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital and were in stable condition Sunday.” (DNAinfo)

A Parks Enforcement Patrol officer was bitten by a dog on Tuesday morning. “The dogs belonged to two sisters who said the dogs were no harm to anyone…While in the process of writing a summons to the second sister her mixed German Shepard jumped on the officer’s right leg and bit it, drawing blood. The other sister grabbed the dog and fled the scene. (A Walk in the Park)

An attempted robber punched a home health aide in the face after following her into an elevator at 840 Columbus Avenue last Monday. (NBC)

A study will examine pedestrian safety between 94th and 100th streets. To submit comments on safety, email office@cb7.org. (DNAinfo)

Check out a video of Dionisio Lind, the 82-year-old man who plays the Carillon at Riverside Church. (Narratively)

At the Off Broadway boutique on 72nd street, you’re bound to find something colorful. (NY Times)

Scott Stringer and Gale Brewer appointed a few new people to Community Board 7. See the list of members here (page 7), and a DNAinfo story here.

Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. A-rod tried to buy his old lease and hide it from prying eyes so he could deny having lived on the UWS.
