MORNING BULLETIN: A NASTY REVIEW FOR CASA GAGA, WEST END BUS STOP BLUES

September 26, 2012 Weather: Scattered Thunderstorms, High of 80 Degrees.

Notices:
Events today include free Yom Kippur services (with child care available), gyrokinesis and more.

News:
The MTA is planning a new bus layover stop (where the buses sit before heading back in the other direction) for the M60 to LaGuardia Airport at West End Avenue between 107th and 108th Streets. It’s bound to upset people on the residential block, community board members note, but the MTA will try it for six months. (DNAinfo)

Joanne Trattoria, the restaurant opened by Lady Gaga’s parents on 68th Street and Columbus, received another scathing review. Michael Kaminer calls it “a careless, lifeless production” in a review that veers into outright nastiness at times. We get it! You didn’t like the food! (Daily News)

More on Marcus Samuelsson’s upcoming restaurant “American Table” at Alice Tully Hall, which we previewed last week: “The all-day menu, developed by Samuelsson and his right-hand man, Nils Norén, is eclectic Americana as reinterpreted by two expat Swedes, from smoked Caesar salad to taco doro wat. And the long bar remains where it was, now dispensing West Coast wines and cocktails conceived by drinks maven Eben Klemm.” (GrubStreet)

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga herself says she gained 25 pounds eating her dad’s food at the restaurant. “It’s so freaking delicious, but I’m telling you, I gain 5 pounds every time I go in there.” Yes, the reviews have been very bad, but there are enough Gaga fans to fill every table there for the next 10 years.  (USA Today)

Hi West Side Rag really enjoy website…that’s why I just had to point out a little typo “JOANNE TRATTORIA” is located at 70 West 68 Street….you stated “69th St.”
keep up the fab updates…especially thrilled with the 10 new restaurant openings!! FYI…I have never had a bad meal at Joanne’s…& the waitstaff is superb!…remember different strokes for different folks..I will continue enjoying the Germanotta’s establishment regardless of the negative reviews…..Bon appétit!!!
