Apartment-dwellers are obsessed with space. Most of us would gladly sacrifice a limb for 100 to 200 more square feet, if only to give us more room to store our junk. That’s why it’s so nice to see apartments that use a miniscule amount of space wisely. Case in point: Upper West Sider Lysee’s 200 square foot studio on 69th Street. With a loft bed that feels like a tree house, lively record covers hanging from the wall, and a bright and cozy couch, her apartment does a lot with a little.
The apartment been nominated for an award from website Apartment Therapy, but for her to win you have to vote. Here’s how she describes the apartment on the Apartment Therapy site.
“I love all the color and artwork I have in my apartment. Living in a small space can feel confining, so it was important to me to make my apartment colorful and a true reflection of me and my personality. My favorite piece of artwork is likely the original ‘War is Over if you want’ poster that I got backstage from a Yoko Ono concert. And my record collection is also an obvious favorite – most of the vinyls are from my parents collection. I also love sleeping in my loft. My friends often compare it to a fort or a tree house, but it’s really cozy.”
Check out the floor plan and another picture below, and remember to vote (You have to register, but it’s quick; I did it less than a minute). When you’re done, check out our story and a video on a 90-foot Upper West Side apartment!
