Jeff French Segall shot photos of these rainbows from his apartment on West 90th Street. “It seems to have originated in Queens. The view is eastward over and past the Central Park Jacqueline Kennedy Reservoir,” he wrote. “The view takes in about 18 miles from the 27th floor of my West 90th Street living room window.”
Clearly, it’s just another sign of Amazon’s impending arrival. Jeff Bezos shoots rainbows out of the sky when he visits.
I just came down with a case of view envy! Absolutely stunning!
And then there’s the wonderful “Look to the Rainbow”, just ONE of the great “Yip” Harburg classics from the 1947 Tony-winning “Finian’s Rainbow”.

Gorgeous! I knew that someone somewhere had to be seeing a rainbow yesterday because the light was so incredible…but I couldn’t ‘find’ it. Thanks for this beautiful photo! 🙂
Jeff French Segall’s photo is a magnificent piece of art with its horizontal line up of buildings, the semi-circlular bridge, the cloud formation above and the rainbow itself, wide and yet delicate punching upward into the clouds. Exquisite photography!
Spectacular! I must look heavenward more often.
I’m on W 94th St and saw it too. I called it just a stump of a rainbow. But, the colors were bright. and the visible stem was very wide. Wonderful!!!
