The Target store at 795 Columbus Avenue off of 98th Street reopened on Sunday nearly two months after the remnants of Hurricane Ida damaged the store, appearing to cause a portion of the walkway outside to cave in. As the weeks dragged by we got emails asking “Any news about why it is taking Target so long to reopen?”
The corporation only said at the time that it would happen later in the fall, and did not elaborate on what damage the store had sustained.
Thanks to Amelia for the photo and tip.
Glad to hear they are reopened!
their seltzer selection is as glorious as ever! so happy they’re back up and running.
The amount of attention focused on this Target store is amazing. Nothing interests me less.
Then why even read about it AND comment about it if it interests you so little???
Who said I read the article? I didn’t and, in fact, I rarely read any articles here but go straight to the comments. Those actions are not mutually exclusive.
Boris, Boris, I know you think your intelligently cool….but you really sound like a foolish pseudo intellectual with your comments. The fact that you go to the comments section of the WSR proves you only want to instigate…not offer something that might be intelligent.
See, this is the problem with the world today.
You are freely admitting that you don’t make the effort to inform yourself of what you are talking about. Yet you seemingly have very strong opinions about things you really know nothing about.
It’s amazing to me that you would so proudly admit to being uninformed. When did this become OK?
Personally I blame the internet. In real life people would not embarrass themselves by getting into arguments about things that they hadn’t researched or at least familiarized themselves with, minimally.
Boris may want to quit while he’s still behind
Admitting he’s lazy and uninformed is not something to be proud of. SMH.
In fairness you don’t have to do a lot of research to know whether a store like Target is getting more attention than you think it deserves. Whether you should share that opinion I guess is up to you.
Your going on and on about my not being informed because I didn’t read an article in the WSR is pretty nonsensical. What makes you think that I don’t already know the news from other sources? Let’s keep this in the proper perspective – the article was about a store reopening. Not exactly something I need to be intricately informed about. What I “admitted” was that I rarely read the articles in the WSR. I have other sources for news including real life connections to news-making events. No one I know in real life has ever suggested, let alone vehemently stated as you did, that I know nothing about things that I have opinions about. I’d love to hear you rant about the majority of voters who know nothing about the candidates they elect. Do you think they just shouldn’t vote? Voting is an act that represents an opinion, too.
Are the shelves at this Target full? The Target at 61st & Broadway seems to be having trouble keeping their store stocked. I know, I know, supply chain issues, but this seems to be excessive. (And the ‘up’ escalator to the street is frequently out of order)
I feel like I missed a floor or wing when I visited this store. It looked like a large CVS with some produce for sale. What am I missing?
It’s not that different than the Duane Reade that used to be on that block. Which closed for a reason.
I agree, what’s the point of the store if it’s almost as big as CVS with not much to offer?
Big disappointment… They also still have a leak coming down near the pet food section
I agree. I didn’t think there was that much to it-some produce and a regular drug store.
Exactly my reaction. I kept thinking, “where is the rest of it?”
Again, I hit POST COMMENT and the whole response just simply disappeared; I give up.
-L.
I just refer to it as Micro Target.
