You don’t have to go to the burbs to check out a yard sale. There are two on the UWS this weekend!
– One is on 104th: “31st Annual West 104th Street Yard Sale. On September 25 on West 104th Street between West End Avenue and Riverside Drive, you can enjoy the energy of a bustling street market in an exotic land. Shop in more than 60 stalls bursting with second-hand treasures. Bid on gift certificates, antiques, vintage collectibles, posters, photographs, paintings, theater tickets, household items in their original boxes, and services at the Silent Auction. Browse a large selection of novels, plays, poetry, history, biography, children’s books, cookbooks, atlases, dictionaries, and CDs at the Book Sale. Select your family dessert at the Bake Sale. Hunt down a two-dollar labor saver or conversation piece at ‘What-A-Bargain.’ Take a chance in a raffle. (The last winner took home $2,495.) Tap your foot to live music performed by seasoned New York musicians. Free admission. 10 AM to 5:00 PM.” Thanks to Brianna for the tip.
– The other one is a “flea market” on 83rd Street between West End and Broadway from 10 to 5 on Saturday. Expect antiques, toys, books and more! Thanks to Brianna for the tip.
– On Sunday, daffodil bulbs will be handed out in the garden at 84th and Amsterdam starting at noon.
83rd Street flea market has traditionally been great! Looking forward to stopping by tomorrow.
Classroom teachers, art teachers, parents, crafts persons: I will have space at the W. 83rd Street Fair, selling a huge selection of paper crafts for kids and adults. Plain and patterned card stock, large and small punches and rubber stamps (Martha Stewart, Fiskars) etc., etc. Great for cards, scrapbooks, collages, art and play projects. All at giveaway low prices.
Thanks for posting our “Love Your Street Tree Day” daffodil bulb giveaway event! Event is noon-1 pm. First come, first serve – bring a bag and we will distribute bulbs to be planted in tree beds, community gardens, and parks. We owe New Yorkers 4 Parks gratitude for donating daffodil bulbs every year since 9/11 to honor those lost or injured that tragic day. Planting bulbs not only helps beautify the neighborhood come Spring with flowers in bloom, but also helps to keep soil permeable which helps reduce storm water overflow (keeping our rivers cleaner, and reducing flooding as happened during Hurricane Ida). A win-win for all! http://www.loveyourstreettreeday.com & http://www.west80s.org
I bought a small drawing of Robert Miles Parker’s at the W83rd St. tag sale. I would like to buy more from his Broadway theatre collection. Whom should I contact?
