Protesters near 79th Street.

The Henry Hudson Parkway was blocked off starting around 59th Street on Sunday after 5 p.m. as a protest bringing attention to the case of Breonna Taylor wound up the parkway.

#NYC: this is the West Side Highway at West 59 Street in #Manhattan , northbound on the left; the road is subject to closure due to #protest activity. Expect heavy #Traffic in the area; stay with #WCBS880Traffic for updates pic.twitter.com/oXsJ4fbdK8

Hundreds of people walked up the road, shouting chants like “Justice for Breonna Taylor.”

The city sent out an alert:

“Due to protest activity, expect traffic delays, road closures and a heavy presence of emergency personnel near the West Side Highway and 59th Street in Manhattan. Consider alternate routes and allow for additional travel time.”

The march then turned into the UWS at 79th Street, marching to Central Park.
