Sachin sent us the following pictures of a sedan “parked” on 73rd Street for at least a full day and night with a lock on the steering wheel and a ticket on the windshield. Was the person intent on making a fast getaway? Did the car just run out of gas halfway through the parking job? Any other ideas?
Why do you say that this was a bad parking job? That’s a BMW — everyone knows that Beemers aren’t bound by the same laws that limit us little people. (Ever seen a Beemer use turn signals when making a turn? No, neither have I.)
Besides, everyone knows that you’re not supposed to park near a hydrant. So Mr or Ms Beemer didn’t park near the hydrant. Why are you complaining?
Old car = Old people = do they really deserve to have a license anymore??
Old car = old people?
Are you out of your mind?
Most older people know how to park properly.
It’s the younger crowd that does not.
And since when does an old car mean that the owner is old?
Do you deserve a license?
How old are you?
Not in years, but in good sense.
In the movie, Annie Hall’s parking success was measured by whether the walk to the curb was of a reasonable duration. On a scale from 1 to Annie Hall, I’d give this one a 9.
Could there have been, at the moment the car parked there, enormous amounts of trash that spilled into the street and “wasted” most of a perfectly legitimate parking spot? Not sure I would do something similar, but the frustration of looking for legitimate parking can sometimes “drive” us to some bizarre behavior.
