Welcome to the fifth edition of the Sunday crossword puzzle from West Side Rag, this time with a focus on Seinfeld given all its ties to the Upper West Side.
Before you dive in, here are a few tips for solving:
- This puzzle is designed to be phone-friendly, but you’ll admittedly have more screen to work with if you play on a computer. The navigation bar above the puzzle also offers the option to Print it out if you’re more of a paper and pencil person.
- If you get stuck, the online version has an Assist button that will let you Reveal or Check a letter, word, or the entire grid. You can also Ask a friend by sending them an invite code and the link to the puzzle.
- All of the clues fit an Upper West Side theme, but crossword fans will notice this means a slightly sprawling grid and fewer intersections between words. We’ll continue working to craft the perfect puzzle that feels local to the neighborhood while offering the right amount of playability.

Most of the show happened on the UWS.
The famous chocolate babka scene took place on W. 72nd and Jerry lived on W. 81st! I’m sure there are more references. If you haven’t seen the show I’m not going to try to convince you otherwise. 🙄

The last episode of that TV show I looked up was 28 years ago, before many of us were born. I as 10 then, didn’t watch that show of course. Now all of UWS ate seniors .
Not a senior either.
Meant not all of us are seniors who read daily the West Side Rag.
The show has been in syndication for over 30 years (it went into syndication before it even ended), plus it’s available on two streaming platforms. Hard to miss it!
Never watched a single episode, so cannot answer a single clue, except a couple by guessing from oft-repeated phrases or lines!
Brutally hard if you haven’t watched Seinfeld since it first aired eons ago. But fun anyway!

Toms Restaurant is at 112th and Broadway. It’s featured heavily in the show.
