It’s not quite summer movie season yet, but the Central Park Conservancy just gave us a sneak peek at the lineup of films for its annual outdoor movie fest:
The Central Park Conservancy Film Festival will take place from August 21-25, with films being shown in the landscape north of Sheep Meadow, beside the cafe (mid-Park at 69th Street). Enter the Park at 72nd Street. The festival is free of charge.
Movies to be screened this year include:
Aug. 21: Do the Right Thing (1989)
Aug. 22: Pee-wee’s Big Adventure (1985)
Aug. 23: The Big Lebowski (1998)
Aug. 24: Animal House (1978)
Aug. 25: Viewers’ Choice: Coming to America (1988) or Clerks (1994)
Visit www.centralparknyc.org/filmfestival starting May 28 for a complete listing of movies and their viewing dates. To cast your vote in which film will screen on the festival’s final night, visit ABC7 online at www.7online.com to cast your vote for Coming to America or Clerks. Voting will begin in late July.
All screenings begin at 8:00 pm, rain or shine, with gates open to the public at 6:30 pm. All movies will be close captioned. Bring a picnic!
The festival is sponsored by Bloomberg.
