Bank robbers seem to have a thing for the Chase Bank at 2438 Broadway, around 90th Street. They just can’t seem to leave it alone. The branch has been targeted three times by robbers in the past six months, most recently by the fellow pictured above (allegedly) on Nov. 17. In that case, the robber passed a note asking for cash, but the teller said “No,” reports DNAinfo.
Gutsy! I would gladly have handed over the entire drawer while sobbing uncontrollably.
The same Chase branch was also hit twice in June. A guy named Sam Chatman has been charged with a June 18 robbery; police caught him in Indiana in August. In another robbery attempt on June 6, a man handed the teller a note, but he fled without getting any money. Chase said it always reviews safety procedures after bank robberies. Let’s hope the employees also get hazard pay.
