Notices:
We have a new list of events up for this week, so give it a look so you can feel guilty about what you’ll be missing while you’re sitting in front of the TV (or is that just me?).
Someone found a kitten on Sunday “walking down 86th St between Columbus and Central Park West. Grey with white under belly, chest and paws. No collar, no microchip (brought it to the vet first). Appears to be less than one year old.” Is it yours?
News:
Maria Gorshin, a native Upper West Sider and a West Side Rag columnist, reminisces about Joe’s Candy Store, where your credit was always good and the gossip flowed freely. Now it’s a Verizon store. (City Girl Writes)
The Upper West Side’s own congressman Jerry Nadler spends more on staff salaries than any other member of the House of Representatives at $657,000. Illinois Republican Joe Walsh spends the least on staff salaries at $257,000. (Topeka Capital Journal)
Pedestrians have been losing space on New York’s streets for years, and now are the equivalent of cattle. (NY Times)
If you missed our weekend coverage, read about the 100-square-foot apartment for rent, the story of the Italian singer killed by an SUV on Broadway, a column on finding lost things, and stunning photos of foliage and sexy mannequins.
Joe Walsh has only temps working for him considering his other problems.
The “We Are” sign is a Penn State thing.
