Thank the Lord for that washer/dryer! Weill, the former Chairman and CEO of Citigroup, bought the apartment for a mere $47 million in 2007. At Weill’s request, architect Robert A.M. Stern designed the bedroom in an oval shape, so his view of the sun rising over Central Park would not be obstructed, notes Curbed.
If it sells for anywhere near the $88 million he just listed it for on Friday, it will set a new record, the Wall Street Journal points out. Weill says he will give the proceeds to charity.
Weill still has a slightly smaller apartment on the 6th floor of 15 CPW, so don’t worry about him. He’ll make do.

The last freestanding mansion on the Upper West Side is also on the market for $15 million (half-off from its initial price). And if you want to see how the other half lives, check out this 100-square-foot studio on 71st Street.
Maybe he could let the folks from Occupy Wall Street use the place until it sells??
