Apparently, someone is poisoning birds on the Upper West Side, and the poison is also fatal for dogs. I just spoke to Animal General Hospital, which is warning people to look out for cracked corn, which appears to be dried corn. Update: It sounds like dead birds were found between 86th and 88th Streets, according to the New York Post.
Here’s the notice:

Thanks to Tuwamba for the tip.
Where is this happening? What street was this posted on?
Still trying to get street info from the Wild Bird Fund.
If by “wild birds” you mean pigeons, then I am all for it. This guy is my hero. (An now….let the name calling begin…)
Clearly, “nt” is a very unpleasant person. First, pigeons are not bad, and second, putting poisoned food out, which can be picked up by other birds (not just pigeons), dogs and even little kids, is a terrible thing to do. Whoever is doing this, if caught, should be prosecuted to the maximum allowed.
There needs to be tough & punitive punishment for this bird killer & there could be more than one. This is putting everyone in danger not to mention our beautiful & precious wildlife which the Wildbird Fund is committed to as many of its supporters & city bird lovers & rescuers are. This is a criminal offense since Avitrol was banned when Governor Pataki was Governor. Poisoning the environment & setting up these innocent beautiful harmless birds to die a horrific death is a cruel & barbaric form of animal cruelty & the perpetrator or perpetrators need to be caught & made to pay for this crime. This also jeopardizes dogs & children. The NYPD must set a precedent that this is not be tolerated & is punishable by law. I hope the person or persons responsible will be arrested soon.
