There are multiple races taking place, but the headliner of this election is the mayoral race between Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani, Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa, and Independent candidate Andrew Cuomo.

Most (all?) of the candidates listed above as “(D)” should actually be “(D/WFP)” — let’s not forget the Working Families Party.
Thanks for reminder. Done.
Mark Levine is not on the WFP line.
Mark Levine is not on the WFP line. He wants to put pension funds back into the Israel Fund. I wrote-in Brad Lander.
Great photo of a cassone rental container
At least I know where to go for an office trailer and storage trailers.
The WSR is the best
I’ve been getting tons of ads from Bragg lately. I voted for Florence. She has zero chance but seems like a much better alternative. Put the bad guys who have been found guilty away.
Trump endorsed Cuomo. It was THE best thing for MAMDIAN !
If you voted for Cuomo then you’re voting for Trump! 🤮
I don’t agree, but I’m certain Mamdan’s supporters would like you to think that.
Cuomo had NO problem opposing Trump’s policies or rhetoric during COVID. He did it strategically, though – while Trump’s administration did nothing to support NY in the worst crisis, Cuomo’s office gave regular updates and information about government actions and resources, calming panic and unifying us. Watching his response to Trump back then was like watching a full grown, mature man dealing with a spoiled teenager.
I believe Mamdani is just using NYC for his career. I don’t trust his barely-veiled antisemitism, for which there is ample evidence. I don’t like his anti-white sentiments. The last thing we need is another politician trying to build his career through dividing us. No de Blasio reruns please.
Well I did vote for Trump so was fine voting Cuomo as well. Confirmed no vomiting, thanks for the concern though.
Trump cut, what?, 180 million in ANTI-TERROR funding and halted the LARGEST infrastructure project, just to SPITE US BECAUSE HE HATES THIS CITY
And if you vote for Mandami, you’re voting for Hamas. See what I did there?
Have fun coping in a few hours 🙂
Not fun for us Jews.
I am glad I have more competitive races than the UWS
Carnac The Magnificent Election Recap: UWS voters complain year after year about crime, homeless on the streets, rats, empty storefronts, education, healthcare, unsafe transit, dangerous bikes etc, etc and then vote straight Democrat down the line electing the same people responsible for all the problems and who have done nothing to address them.
UWS voters complain about crime and then vote straight Democrat because they are the people who have been in charge while crime has fallen to all time, historic lows.
Thank you!
At least I’m not voting for open racism and facism. Thinking all of these “problems” will go away if you replace everyone in the government is stupid.
They kinda would.
Memo to the left: you’re overusing the words “racist” “facist” and “nazi.” Those words are losing their meaning at this point. An actual facist probably wouldn’t laugh off protests, and Trump has hoards of non white supporters, so you’re really just agitating yourselves.
Madam Marie’s Boardwalk Fortune Telling — more tired, recycled , unhelpful rhetoric from super online republican cranks with zero good ideas
We have plenty of good ideas. Let’s have a secure border, rather than a wide-open one that lets in criminals, gang members and drug traffickers. Let’s lower taxes so people can keep more of their own money rather than give it to wasteful and corrupt politicians. Let’s insist our NATO allies actually spend the 2% on their defense that they promised, rather than spend way less and mooch off the US. Let’s stop discriminating against people based on their race in college admissions. Just to cite a few.
The literal definition of insanity
Crime was at its lowest under de Blasio.
Reported crime was lower, not actual crime.
There is a difference.
Don’t forget stores had to start locking up merchandise under DiBlasio’s term(s),
Yes funny how imaginary crime spikes whenever conservatives don’t like who is mayor
When toothpaste and detergent are not locked up, please let me know.
Extremely tired of the Crime Truthers. Crime is lower. The numbers say it, and anyone who was alive during the 90s-2000s feels it. The only people who feel like we have higher crime than ever are people who choose to spend their time on the websites that breathlessly report every single crime in a city of 8 million people with zero context.
I’d say to buy some vitamins if you are tired.
But, they are locked up so that requires more energy to buy.
Conservatives are always screaming about crime but when they have to deal with facts (crime is at all time lows, under policies implemented by liberal Democratic politicians) they retreat to feelings and jokes.
They don’t care about actually reducing crime, they just like feeling a little scared. The NYPost and conservative Facebook groups are the same thing as people who like to watch horror movies or listen to true crime podcasts. But those people aren’t demanding we build our police and justice system around protecting us from Babadooks.
I wish I had seen this earlier:
