The Tony Awards show is returning to the Upper West Side in 2024.

Lincoln Center will host the annual celebration on June 16 of the best and brightest from Broadway over the past calendar year. The 77th Annual Tony Awards will be broadcast live from the David H. Koch Theater within the Lincoln Center Plaza near West 63rd Street.

The David H. Koch Theater is also home to the New York City Ballet.

“The 77th celebration will recognize all of the award categories and honor the incredible artistry of the 2023-2024 season,” reads an announcement on Wednesday by Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing of the venue and date for the show.

Last year, the show took place in Washington Heights’ United Palace Theatre. The 2023 show went without a script due to the WGA strike, but still garnered 4.3 million viewers.

It is the first time the Tony Awards show is taking place on the Upper West Side since 2016, when it was hosted at the Beacon Theater. The Tony Awards also took place at the Beacon in 2011 and 2012.

In the 21st century, the annual show and celebration has overwhelmingly taken place at Radio City Music Hall, but Lincoln Center will be its fourth venue in as many years.

It is the first time Lincoln Center is hosting the Tony Awards.

The show will air on CBS.

Revival. Miss Midler has aged out of the role, but Bernadette Peters still fits in the costume.

They picked an odd date next year. It is usually the second Sunday in June. In 2024 they picked the third Sunday, which is also Father’s Day, to have an awards show. I wonder why?
