Gumercinda Narvaez, 75, a pedestrian, was struck by a Ford van traveling south on Columbus Avenue at the intersection of W. 92nd Street, on December 4th at approximately 5:06 a.m., according to a police report. “The operator of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.”
Police were not informed of the collision until December 9th, when Ms. Narvaez “succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased” at Mt. Sinai Morningside Hospital, where she had been taken by EMS following the crash. “There are no arrests and the NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating,” police said.
Ms. Narvaez lived on Central Park West near 100th Street.
