Election Day is Tuesday, November 8, less than a month away. Early voting starts in about two weeks on October 29.
To vote you must be registered. To find out if you are, click here. If you discover you’re not, registering couldn’t be easier: you can register in person, online, or by U.S. mail. But you must do it NOW.
Voter registration ends Friday, October 14. (Mail must be postmarked by that date.)
To make voter registration even easier, here’s a link to the NYC Board of Elections, which gives detailed instructions as well as a sample of YOUR SPECIFIC BALLOT, so you can read it beforehand. You can also find your polling place. It’s actually a fun site to explore. If you don’t have access to a computer, you can call 1-866-868-3692.
Importantly, the website includes an online application for an Absentee Ballot. The criteria for obtaining an Absentee Ballot have been temporarily expanded this year to include “a risk of contracting or spreading a disease such as COVID-19.” Check “Temporary Illness” on the application. Absentee ballots must be postmarked by November 8.
And be sure to watch WSR for upcoming stories about the candidates and issues!
Helpful. Thank you!
