Parts of Central Park Closed for Global Citizen Concert Saturday; Billie Eilish and Others Performing

A concert called Global Citizen to raise awareness about social issues is taking place on the Great Lawn on Saturday starting around 2, and parts of the park will be blocked off for much of the day.

The main area of the concert is in the middle of the park from around 80th to 85th Street. Gates open at 2 and performers will likely start around 4. The concerts ends at 10. People will be entering the concert at 72nd Street and Central Park West.

Tickets, many of which were given away to people who took certain actions, are sold out.

Performers will include Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, Meek Mill, and Shawn Mendes.

every time I try to go to a global event I can’t get inside even when its before hand s I what actions do I need to take to attend one

Will be happy when it’s finally over. Extremely loud generator for the concert has been running for 24 hours a day since Wednesday on 87th and CPW.

I hate these concerts. They are relentlessly loud with bass levels that could (and probably do) kill wildlife not to mention my desire to live in New York.

The endless throbbing and pounding can be heard from my apartment on 75th/Amsterdam and I am sure endless other people have had to put up with it too. It’s been going on all day and still hasn’t stopped.
This is so intrusive and invasive! Is there anyone else out there being driven crazy by the noise??

Why is it okay that a large swath of Central Park is closed for five days? The park is vital to many people. Under the De Blasio administration the actual citizens of the city don’t matter. And why does the UWS bear the brunt of the TV and infrastructure trucks with their air and noise polluting generators? Why not 5Th Avenue? Oh I know, CB7 and Helen Rosenthal NOT protecting the UWS as usual.
