I’ll let you in on a big secret, for THE best Roast Pork with rice and beans, take a walk in Riverside Park and visit Ana’s green food truck, A Taste of Ecuador, parked on the promenade just south of 103rd Street.
Ana’s Roast Pork, offered only on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m., is always tender, moist, perfectly seasoned and, if you’re lucky, you’ll enjoy some crispy skin along with the rice, beans and green salad. Ask for her homemade green hot sauce, yum! From May to November, without a doubt, it’s the best meal and deal ($10) on the Upper West Side.
For me, the best of the outdoor season here in NYC is tied in with seeing Ana and her husband Guillermo in their green truck in Riverside Park.

Ana’s shrimp ceviche, also a weekend afternoon-only special, is highly recommended.
Even her tasty cheese empanadas are delicious! She’s been there for years and my whole family love her delicious food!
The empanadas are out of this world.
Thank you for featuring Ana and Guillermo. They are wonderful, hard-working people and their food is delicious!
Ana is so lovely, we are fans of the delicious food …many options and all delicious!
Thanks for the write up..
Great to know about family food trucks! Look forward to sampling this place and hearing more.
We’ve been fans of Ana’s (and her delicious food) for years. So glad to see her featured as her business suffered when she was made to move south from approx 103rd (at the foot of the path from the upper level) to 101st on the promenade.
The cat is out of the bag! My wife and I have been Ana fanatics for years. Very glad to see them here. The cart is run by an unbelievably hardworking husband and wife duo and their family. They were extremely busy this past weekend and there isn’t a business that deserves it more!
The reviewer is accurate – the pork plate (“hornado”) is out of this world if you like pork whatsoever. Beyond that she also makes amazing ceviches, empanadas and tamales. If you like potatoes she also makes incredible potato pancakes (“llapingachos” ). All of the above are even more sublime with dollops of her green spicy sauce.
Thanks to West Side Rag I’ve been enjoying my big helping of Ana’s roast pork for a lunch & two suppers. It’s so tasty — I can’t wait to try some of her other dishes.
