The next virtual meeting of the NYC chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America, May 4 at 6:00-7:30, will feature a panel of three top cochlear implant surgeons who will discuss advances in cochlear implant technology. Topics addressed will include changing standards for qualification, auditory training after implantation, and assistive devices offered by each of the three FDA-approved manufacturers. The panel discussion will be moderated by Justin Golub, associate professor of otolaryngology—head and neck surgery, NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. He will be joined by Dr. George Alexiades, Director of the Cochlear Implant Center at the Weill Cornell Medical College, and Dr. David Friedmann, Associate Professor, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
