Officers investigate a shots fired incident at Amsterdam Houses Saturday morning

By Joy Bergmann

Multiple shots rang out around 4:59 a.m. Saturday morning near 248 W. 62nd Street at West End Avenue, home to the NYCHA Amsterdam Houses development, an NYPD spokesperson told WSR.  Further details were few as of 9:15 a.m., but no victims have yet been reported.

WSR spotted officers from the 20th Precinct and Manhattan North surveying the area, marked by several cones often used to note bullet casings.

A local person who shot and shared video via the Citizen app said they heard eight shots. Police in the video could be seen sweeping rooftops, stairwells and sidewalks looking for suspects.
