BARD GRAD CENTER OFFERING UNIQUE ART CLASSES FOR KIDS; DRAWING, ANIMATION AND MORE (SPONSORED)

Bard Graduate Center is offering a new a three-session workshop for kids ages 8 – 14 taking place Saturday mornings beginning February 27 at their location on the Upper West Side. In the workshop, called “Object Lab”, kids will develop their own unique perspective on portraiture, architecture, and identity using different media including stop-motion animation.  Learn from visual artist and educator Matthew Burcaw the many ways to grow through art! Object Lab

Saturdays. February 27, March 5, March 12

9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Bard Graduate Center (38 West 86th Street)

$250.00 per Child/3-session workshop

Includes all materials, light refreshments, and studio space

For participants ages 8–14

February 27 | 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Session I: Contours of Yourself

Matthew Burcaw introduces the art of contour drawing using pencil and wire. Kids experiment with shadow, line, and complete a series of portraits.

March 5| 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Session II: Skyline

Participants focus on architecture and the skyline using pencil and wire. They continue their projects and delve into the animation process.

March 12| 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Session III: Self in the City

Kids bring their wire portraits and buildings to life through stop-motion animation.
