Central Park’s Ice Festival has been called off due to the brutal cold and high winds expected on Saturday. The current forecast calls for temperatures as low as 3 degrees and winds as high as 45 mph.

“The Central Park Conservancy’s fifth annual Central Park Ice Festival scheduled to take place this Saturday, February 13 at the Naumburg Bandshell has been cancelled due to impending extreme temperatures and high winds. The event will not be rescheduled.”

It’s the second winter event in the park to be cancelled this year because of the weather.

Okay, not as clever as “FAKE-SNOW EVENT CANCELLED BECAUSE OF REAL SNOW”, but it’ll do.

Ice really does not do well in the cold event to be rescheduled this summer. Global warming is a real drag.

SO the snow event was cancelled due to snow and the ice event was cancelled due to cold. What will they think of next?
