A local church is taking in homeless people amidst the blizzard tonight and is looking for help.

From All Angels Church:

251 West 80th Street, New York, NY 10024

Friends, we’re opening All Angels’ for emergency shelter tonight & Tuesday night. We have room for 50 people. We’re providing dinner, 3 meals tom and breakfast Tues. We open up for extreme cold & snow, but don’t have the budget for it. Would you consider 1 of 2 ways to help give our homeless friends a warm & safe place during the blizzard?

1. Make a donation of $40 (or any amount) to help cover costs for meals, security and supplies. You can click on this link and select “emergency shelter.”

2. If you live on the Upper West Side, come volunteer to help serve, clean, & hang out with people. Call the church office at 212-362-9300 to check in with Ralph or Anthony about how you can help.

If you see anyone out there on the streets, you can send them our way now. Thank you and please share this!

my family and I are members at this church. We think it’s a wonderful place for all neighbors: after the evening service there’s even a “community meal” at which those who have homes and those who don’t sit down together over a meal. Other churches send volunteers to serve the food.
