The JCC is offering a day of free classes, giveaways and seminars on New Year’s Day so prospective members can learn about all the benefits of a membership — and start thinking about how to make their lives better in 2015. And if you join the health club on Jan. 1, you’ll save $200!
You can sign up for zumba, yoga, cycling, a MELT stress-reduction class, a kid’s play space and more. There are also classes that don’t involve physical fitness, including seminars on managing money during tough times, cooking and creating your own art story board. Other seminars teach people how to avoid injuries and falls, and use meditation to help you get some sleep.
And if you don’t get to party on New Year’s Eve, there’s a dance party there on New Year’s Day: “Cross train with movements from martial arts, dance, yoga and healing arts. Awaken to the inner power that you have to heal your body, your heart, and your life. So, dance in the New Year at the JCC’s annual New Year’s Rockin’ Nia Jam!”
It’s truly a one-of-a-kind opportunity, so start browsing the site and registering for classes here. For many of the classes, walk-ins are also welcome, so consider showing up anyway even if the website says the class is full.
