Someone put a full dinner setting on top of this NYPD cement block at 73rd street and Columbus Avenue. There’s a setting for two, along with vodka and vino. Quite frankly, it’s brilliant.
Mark Scheerer, who sent in the photos, says it’s not clear who set it up.
“NYPD security measures for the Marathon on Sunday include those huge cement blocks on sidewalks near the finish line and post-race areas. One of them at 73rd and Columbus has been turned into an al fresco dining spot. The folks inside the adjacent deli say it’s not their handiwork. Somebody step up and take credit!”
Love it. When life gives you security theater barriers, make security theater barrier-ade. 🙂
