An apartment that recently hit the market at the Beresford on Central Park West and 81st street offers apartment-buyers an added bonus: they can negotiate to buy the vast collection of taxidermy hanging from the walls. The apartment is owned by author and socialite Gregory Speck, who once dreamed of owning a zoo, the Times says. The online listing includes photos of the rooms with and without the animal kingdom. Check out a few below, and the rest at the Halstead site. The asking price (without the animals) is $3.395 million.

Why doesn’t he just donate them to the AMNH across the street?
Clearly money does not buy good taste.
Tacky and gross; certainly nothing to be proud of.
Animals aside, that seemed like a reasonable price, until you get the hints that the whole place will need a massive reno.
Was I the only person to read, Mr. Speck wanted to own a zoo? How ironic.
I would have nightmares!
Horrendous…
