Today (May 11), “the doctors and staff of Central Park West Dentistry will donate their time and services to the community, by hosting a day of free dental care. Last year, the free dental event benefited children in the community, but this year, the dental office has chosen to give free services to senior citizens, ages 65 and up. Central Park West Dentistry will perform cleanings, exams, fillings, and extractions at no charge on Make Seniors Smile Day.” The office is at 25 W. 68th Street, Suite 1A.
PS 84’s Spring Fair is on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 32 West 92nd Street. Games, crafts and other events, along with food.

Charles Mysak, the sidewalk bookseller on 68th street and Columbus pictured above, had his books seized by the NYPD this week because they said he abandoned them and has the wrong size table. He said he might be done with the business, but was out there again yesterday with some new books smoking his cigar. In a a side note, Upper West Siders always seem to complain about these guys, but I’ve never quite understood it. (NY Times)

Has Jason Sheftell / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS ever been to the Windermere on 92nd & West End? The building is falling apart! (I’ll take pics this weekend.) The facade has open bricks – they’ve been working on it for months, and “improvements” are moving at a snail’s pace.
This quote: “In all, this might be the most radical transformation yet of a prewar apartment building, mirroring in some ways the conversion of 15 Broad into a chic condominium and the Stanhope into Fifth Ave. palaces” blows me away.
Really? Fix the outside of your building, so it doesn’t fall down on the rest of us!
