The Betsey Johnson store on Columbus Avenue between 71st and 72nd Streets has outfitted thousands of Upper West Side girls and women in brightly colored clothes for more than two decades.
But the store will soon close after the company filed for bankruptcy last month. All items in the store are 20% to 50% off, and the company’s online store is also offering 20% to 50% discounts. (Update, 5/18: discounts are at 25% to 50% off today.)
Betsey Johnson herself, who was once an Andy Warhol groupie, according to New York magazine, has vowed to keep designing.
I love my brand I love my fans and I’m not going anywhere! As creative director, its full speed ahead. Thanks beyond and beyond! xox Betsey
