News:
Crime in Central Park is way down from levels seen 20 years ago, which doesn’t really seem like news to anyone who has lived here for a while. That said, the numbers are kind of astonishing. In 1981, 731 robberies were recorded in the park. This year, 17 robberies were recorded. The last homicide in the park was in 2002. (NY Times)
Spot doggie day care wasn’t the only local business robbed by two armed men who have been on a spree of late. Westsider Books on 80th and Broadway also got hit last month. C’mon robbers. Aren’t bookstores under enough pressure from Amazon.com? (NY Daily News)
Troubled restaurant Papasito on 104th Street recently got busted for selling drinks to underage people. (DNAinfo)
