Therapie, the “luxury lifestyle emporium” on Columbus Avenue between 74th Street and 75th Street that sells everything from makeup to toys and gifts, is closing by the end of February. The owner’s assistant told me that the lease was up and the landlord wanted to raise the rent. The store couldn’t afford the increase, and is looking for a new location on the Upper West Side.
Update: uh-oh, looks like the liquidation has already started. See photo below.
Therapie also has a shop at the Limelight Marketplace on 20th Street.

I agree! I’m so sad, since it’s just a couple of blocks from my apartment ;-( I hope that they will continue to have a presence somewhere on the upper west side — and I guess I’ll have to run over soon to pick up some good deals on bags and men’s cologne for DH …
