Workers at the Museum of Natural History are giving the animals in the dioramas a full makeover, for the first time in more than 70 years. They were respirators as they vacuum the dust. Some animals are getting new teeth and the bison got a nose job. The whole project will take more than a year. (NY Post)
City parks officials closed the parks on Saturday night after they got more than 1,000 calls to 311 about fallen trees and branches following the freak October snowstorm. A 69-year-old woman was hit by a tree branch at 61st Street and Central Park West on Saturday around 1 p.m. and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The parks were reopened on Sunday, but parks officials urged caution. To help Central Park pay for storm recovery, go here. (NY Daily News)
